I remember receiving a call from a very good friend of mine, Arantza, who asked if I could help her operate the lighting board for a dance show by Artists' Play, for which she had been asked to operate the sound. I immediately said yes. The following day, I met the whole team, including the artistic director of Artists' Play, Elizabeth Dawn Snell, who gave me a quick tour of the venue and introduced me to the tech being used for the show. The show was designed by Sebastian Marziali, and my role was to operate the cues on his behalf. I didn’t design the show; I only operated the laptop running the ETC software. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as it was my very first time doing something like this. Below is a video from that dance show.
